Must-Read Articles 11/18/17

Hello, everyone! We hope you had a great weekend. Here you’ll find a compilation of interesting articles that we enjoyed ourselves last week. We hope that these will inspire you with new ideas for your workplace and facility management teams!

With stats like these, employers may need to start paying attention.

Mark Eltingram wastes no time delving into the statistics that have been found recently regarding team members’ views on productivity and flexibility. There is a wealth of information in these numbers, and we think it’s pertinent that organizations start to reconsider how they operate. “A study of British businesses and employees found that nine in ten employees surveyed (89 percent) consider flexible working to be a key motivator to their productivity levels within the workplace – a view shared equally among male and female employees (87 percent and 90 percent respectively) – and more so than financial incentives (77 percent).”

“… but one in which a number of technological forces coalesce to create a perfect storm of uncertainty.”

This is admittedly a bit of a longer post, but we enjoyed the discussion since it revolved so much about what we can and cannot anticipate about the coming future. We found it interesting that one of the more straightforward answers was about workplace flexibility in how it will shape the future of how we work. “…the solution lies in an increased use of desk sharing, drop in zones, break out space and other forms of multi-functional workspaces.”

“Serenity now!”

Fortunately, these tips are a bit more helpful than yelling Frank Costanza’s mantra. Pierre Battah from CBC News has some genuinely practical tips to help you organize your days to reduce stress and become more productive.
